Dr. Natasha Hugo
Dr. Natasha Hugo is a dedicated and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, committed to the holistic care and well-being of women at every stage of life — from adolescence through pregnancy, to menopause and beyond.
She began her medical journey at the University of the Witwatersrand, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh). After completing her internship and community service, Dr. Hugo joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in 2014.
She obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics, and a Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FCOG) from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa . She further obtained her Master of Medicine (MMed) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hugo has gained extensive experience in both clinical and academic settings. She served as a specialist consultant at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where she was involved in training and mentoring junior doctors while managing a diverse and high-risk patient population.
She has particular interest and expertise in: Maternal mental health, multiple pregnancies and recurrent pregnancy loss. As she is a consultant for these clinics at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital.

Dr. Hugo is known for her patient-centred approach, individualising care to meet the unique needs of each woman. Her work is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the physical and emotional journey of womanhood.
As a mother of two beautiful boys, she brings not only clinical expertise but also personal insight into the joys and challenges many of her patients face.
